YouthWorks

Implemented in 1999, YouthWorks offers a series of collaborative, asset based, theater workshops for at-risk youth involved in social service agencies from the rural communities of Logan, Champaign and surrounding counties throughout Ohio. We use theater arts to address issues of low self-esteem, learning disabilities, and self-control and consult with caseworkers, therapists and other staff to identify the needs, risk factors, characteristics and skills of the participants to create a program to address these factors.

YouthWorks offers at-risk youth the opportunity to take risks and explore new behaviors while learning problem-solving methods to manage their depression, anxiety and impulsive tendencies.

YouthWorks provides at-risk youth, as well as caseworkers, therapists and agency staff with an in-depth theater experience based upon the storytelling and traditional arts of the people from the farms and small towns of our region.

YouthWorks offers participants the opportunity to take risks, explore new behaviors and learn creative problem-solving methods in a non-threatening, inclusive environment.
